Found this pot today in box of pewter, it is made of coarse clay with impressed decoration. Could it African? No marks. Any ideas?

Gilt arms of Thomas Hatcher (1589-1677) of Careby, near Stamford (Lincolnshire). Student at Cambridge & Lincolnshire MP. On the parliamentary side in the Civil Wars, interesting given that these arms are on the folio works of King James I (London, 1616). @theulspeccoll.bsky.social Acton.a.25.38.
