My school competes in a county-wide reading competition in which hs students read 30 books, then compete to see which school knows the books the best. Burn was on the list and was the favorite for my team that year. I loved it too!

Agreed, but it would nonetheless be a nightmare for Trump or any other tyrant, because it would increase add about 40 million people who are not willing to submit to authoritarianism.

This is devastating, humiliating for Americans of good will.

“Armed resistance against civilians not ok under international law or morally”.

Oh the irony.

This country is becoming unrecognizable. What we’re seeing is state-funded fear. We’ve warned people: keep filming, go live on social media so these moments are documented and shared. This wasn’t a case involving masked ICE agents—but that’s happening too.

I think our guy Trump has no originality. He just tries to copy Erdogan, Putin, Orban, Stalin. He has no soul of his own, so he tries to emulate a bunch of other soulless douchbags.

I appreciate your support of free speech, but as far as I can tell, Mahmoud did not advocate violence against Israel. His worldview seems to be that large-scale savagery against civilians is bad. What is it you find fault with? Is it about who is committing the atrocities?

Hey everyone -- Moms of Liberty and Dept of Education launched a snitch line portal today to rat out teachers and anyone promoting anything DEI.

FLOOD THE PORTAL

Spam the hell out of it.

Pass it on! It works!

YES! We shouldn’t worry about the effectiveness of each and every action. We need to take action even in small ways. That will lead to bigger and better things.

It occurred to me that a massive letter (physical, snail mail letter) campaign to our elected officials would make an impact perhaps greater than any form of electronic communication. Imagine every member of congress, every senator recieving ten or twenty thousand letters per day! Any thoughts?

YES! We don't want "paralysis by analysis". Don't worry if any given action is "worth it". We'll find our way (individually and collectively) by DOING.

@kelseybogan.bsky.social hi Kelsey! Do you use commercial (like Demco) for genre spine labels?

That’s one of the most disturbing things about this. Utter normalization of despicable behavior.

It’s especially funny since the word “state” as often used in the US (and a handful of other countries) is actually a colloquialism that means province.

YES! I think this might be one of our most powerful tools, but we need to be highly organized and targeted.

I agree. However bad the destruction will be, there will be no self-reflection. No realization. It will be a cascading series of worsening problems, poorly managed, and blamed on the usual scapegoats.

Bing and Apple Maps are now also labeling the Gulf of Mexico incorrectly. As of now, Mapquest is labeling it correctly.

Here's How All Online Maps Are Handling the ‘Gulf of Mexico’ Name Change
Google is among the first companies to change the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America on its maps. Other sources for online maps have not yet followed Donald Trump's executive order.

I suspect that even when shit impacts them they will misunderstand why it is impacting them, and continue to support their oppressor.
