Switch is fantastic for it, Dragon Fang Z and Shiren were both amazing experiences and there were a number of indie trad roguelikes I played on there that I was a big fan of. Portable PC gaming platforms like the Steam deck are great too, but I don’t think as many people own them!

What's the best #mobilegaming device for a traditional #roguelike? Phone? Switch? Steamdeck?

So begins a 1000 tiny UI refinements! img1: Oct 1, img2: today

100 Rogues' primary goal has always been to make the Traditional Roguelike genre more accessible and newbie-friendly. A minimalist, easy-to-read interface with clear labels is essential to that goal.

Remaining work before the Demo is released:

10 Tutorial steps to implement
14 Known Showstopper Bugs
4 Known Medium Bugs
5 Known Cosmetic Bugs

When all but the cosmetic bugs reach zero, I'll send a build to QA (my buddy, Jeff). When he can't find any non-cosmetic issues, the Demo will ship!

Realized I didn't have a spare usb-b cord for a second Xbox setup at the booth, so had to add ps5 controller support real quick.

One line of code! Whew 😅

Ready to go, though! See you at RIT in 2 hours!

The game is just one week away from its first public appearance since 2015.

When you think of the original release, what's the first thing that springs to mind?

100% accurate: we love all Rogueli*es here.

But also, I doubt you'd find a single opinion that 100 Rogues is anything other than a #Roguelike 💅

Gamepad support moved a lot slower than anticipated, missing the opportunity to post Screenshot Saturday. So, uh... #MenuMonday ?

Our artist continues crunching cutscenes, but I was able to make a few simple changes that make the main menu look leagues better. Before / after. Feedback welcome!

Still 8 months from release and we've already got our first review.

It's accurate!

Same great logo, now in Vector format and ready to print for t-shirts, banners, posters, ancient runes, skywriting, side shaves, etc.

My slightly more complete thoughts about difficulty, as the game's programmer

For emphasis, I am staying in my lane and guaranteeing the designer's original balance is pristine and uncompromised on Normal Mode.

But, Easy mode? That's for me

Regarding Difficulty — 100 Rogues
I’ll be totally honest, here. I’m bad at videogames. I’m especially bad at roguelikes. You’d think that programming these monsters, looking over their stats day in, day out, would give me a solid leg ...

I'm updating our Difficulty Select buttons to more accurately reflect the experience of playing on Easy Mode.

What are your thoughts on Difficulty? How much should 100 Rogues ask of casual players before seeing the credits roll?
