I finally got around to creating a simple static website with most of my free games and tools. Play my games online by clicking on the game's image, or visit the corresponding GitHub page. It also lists most of the places you may find me online ๐Ÿ˜Ž 0xc0de6502.github.io
Nice! Hunting cycles and bytes is always fun ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I am delighted to announce the release of my latest project:

Fully documented source code for The Sentinel, Geoff Crammondโ€™s 1986 masterpiece.

Hereโ€™s the repository; deep dives coming soon.

Happy new retro year! This is going to be good fun for today

It's best left in Mark's very capable hands ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I remember that from looking at the original sprites. The geese going up/down a ladder are equally awkward in size I believe?

Welcome to my world! ๐Ÿคฃ

Good find, didn't see that while testing

Fingers crossed!

That duck is turning out to be a real pain... ๐Ÿฆ†

Agreed, this is too slow, but doesn't the larger orbit table allow you to vary the speed of the duck more easily?

For the first time the Plus 1 Mini expansion unit for the Acorn Electron is available through Tindie! To celebrate, there's 5% off everything in my Tindie store until the 22nd using code RAMTOP5.

Ok, this is about as complete as it will get ๐Ÿ˜Š Here's a preview... I'll tidy up a few things (maybe change the music) and post on Stardot. ๐Ÿ”Š

We've all been there ;)

Thanks!

I may be able to squeeze in just one more ball on the Elk if I remove gravity and respawn as well (but is not as visually pleasing). Would be numerically pleasing though with 37<<1 = 74

Well done! So the issue is you *have* to use 32K ROMs?
December 13, 2025 at 4:39 PM
Well done! Isn't some of the tearing caused by sprite flicker? Or are you using 2 screen buffers already?
December 13, 2025 at 4:38 PM
I have fond memories of that game, so you never know what these experiments could turn into on the humble Elk :)

Hmm, I really can't remember. Your best bet is a message to Dave H on Stardot I think. Maybe the 8K file should be mirrored in both halves of a 16K ROM?
