Excited that Jane Harrison & I were nominated for Current Archaeology awards Book of the Year, reporting on our National Lottery Heritage Funded work on Hadrian'sWall @newcastleuni.bsky.social ! Voting is open to the public (hint, hint)!

The votive Roman plaques are supposed to be reminiscent of leaves, as from laurels (if I recall correctly).

With this object, is the circular edge raised like a collar? I wonder if it is hackbronze from a vessel? Or broken up statue?
