its dangerous for medical science to get invested in physical competitiveness. the results have been and will be catastrophic, from plantation medicine to performance enhancing drugs. it must remain true to its principles.

cant read without flinching

One of the most pressing reasons, I feel, we need majority LGBTQ+ people in leadership roles in every sector is that they face and fight against prejudice and injustice everyday and win.

Perfect!!

Who is this person Gemini in my life? I meet that person in the middle of a phone call, popping up on my computer screen.. does anyone know this person?

I really can't imagine the strength of mind this needs, not to mention the high pain threshold.

Friends, my final attempt to secure rights to this image for my book. It’s the installation “Towards a Glass Monument” at Old Quad, U of Melb, created by Tom Nicholson. I’ve tried contacting the uni, the artist, even his assistant. No one replied. Can anyone help?

“If so-called ‘so-called poststructuralism’ is the product of a single historical moment, then that moment is probably not May 1968 but rather the Algerian War of Independence.”

Robert Young, White Mythologies,

Would anyone here have access to the newspaper, Herald Palladium of February 1973? Thanks!

We had one that had several different polarities.

Thank God for that.

Please tell me i am wrong or mistaken, but I am yet to come across a single statement by an Australian player or journalist in support of Khawaja.

Seems a paradigmatic moment in human morality.

Just read some white settler Australians calling Usman Khawaja "ungrateful".😆

A quiet New Year's party for us. Happy 2026!!

I haven't read the book but I read this quite brutal review:

“The case is the first positive test in Cook County since 1964, and the first in Illinois since 1994, according to the department… Thirteen people who had contact with the dog have not shown symptoms and are being given preventative treatment, according to the county.” @jackiantonovich.bsky.social
Chicago dog with rabies marks first positive test in Cook County in decades
The positive case came after the dog showed a shift in behavior last week and was euthanized and tested, the Cook County Department of Animal and Rabies Control, said in a statement.

Not sure if it's cool at all, definitely striking: a piece of mummy cloth attached to a report on a mummy. I took a photo just so that I know i didn't imagine it.
Not an archivist, but one of the most striking things I've ever seen in an archive (@ Duke): a midwife's tiny notebook, containing locks of hair of the babies she delivered. How do you digitize that?? No digital copy could capture it or inspire the same feeling as holding it in your hands.
Archivists/librarians please share the coolest thing in your collections that will never be digitized.

Or live telecast your board meetings...

May help to replace "writing" with "love"...?

I live in the heart of California gold country. One of the richest mines ever in CA is nearby. Opened circa 1860 closed 1942. A local foundation has preserved the records on site. I know not a stitch has been digitized and am confident no more than 2 pro historians have ever been in there.

Controversial take: By definition, a pizza is a flatbread. So a deep dish pizza isn't a pizza. Just a deep dish. Peace.

Personally, I dont like Shastri, but I truly believe this will be good for English cricket. Hes technically more sound than Mccu, mentally equally strong, and more pragmatic. Used to English cricket too.
