Thanks to the European Citizens’ Initiative proposal “My voice my choice”, adopted today in the EU parliament, safe and legal #abortion now possible through an opt-in financial mechanism open to all EU countries on a voluntary basis with EU funding.

1. I am for critical thinking and for instilling curiosity and the capacity to read between the lines, add context and regional expertise in my students. This, to me, is more important than being against AI in higher education. It will also help students much more than if I told them what not to do.

Wherever I look, attitudes, preferences, moral standpoints and identities are being forged by deciding what one is against. This can be well-meaning, it can seem necessary or even the right thing to do. But what if we invested our energy instead on the things we want to create? What are you "for"?

The world has changed. Our world has changed. In the wake of the pogrom at Bondi one thing has become clear - it is no longer possible to make outwardly, publicly, proudly Jewish places and events safe in Australia. After two years of almost ceaseless antisemitic harassment, vandalism and intimidation directed at our Little bakery, we have to be realistic about the threats that exist going forwards. Those concerns are now clearly more pressing and more serious. Even in the wake of this terrorist incident, threats have continued. As an open and very public business that operates at all hours, we are unable to ensure the safety of our staff, our customers, our families. And so we have made the only decision available, one that truly breaks our hearts. AVNER'S IS CLOSED. 2025 fällt #Chanukka fast mit Weihnachten zusammen ... ich zünde zum #Advent nach und nach 4 Kerzen an, im Judentum sind es 8 am Chanukkaleuchter.
Wir freuen uns alle über Licht in der dunklen Jahreszeit, aber mir fällt immer wieder auf, wie wenig in Deutschland über jüdisches Brauchtum bekannt ist.

Vielleicht rede ich mal mit den LehrerInnen - aber erstmal bestell ich das Buch. Die Leute landen ja hinterher auch an den Unis und von daher interessiert mich gerade sehr, wo Ihnen kritisches Denken und Argumentieren beigebracht wird …
