👀 Our next #InvasiveAlienSpecies is Neogale vison, the American Mink.
🟢 It is a direct competitor with many native EU species that share its ecological niche, such as the European mink, Pyrenean desman, and Water vole
🪱It is also known to be a carrier of pathogens

🪸 Meet a new #InvasiveAlienSpecies, Nanozostera japonica, the Japanese Eelgrass.
🐚 It displaces native seagrass, affecting local shellfish communities.
⚪ Its faster decomposition rate compared to native seagrasses also alters the decomposer community and productivity dynamics in the tidal zone.

🔎 Today we are focusing on Mulinia lateralis, the Dwarf Surfclam.
🐚 This #InvasiveAlienSpecies, with high fecundity, has the potential to alter benthic communities and influence the food web.
