Will CSCW 2026 be hybrid? We're actively exploring options like live-streamed keynotes and async access.
But decisions depend on financial constraints, and attendance is not required for publication in PACM HCI.

Finally I got a chance to play Detroit: Become Human. Amazing game and incredible emotional experience. One of my favorite reviews on Steam is: “The game makes it clear that it's time to mend relations and sign a peace treaty with chatGPT before it's too late.” 😂 maybe we should?

It was difficult to write this paper given how sensitive this topic is and the tremendous ethical considerations surrounding studying "harassers." I'm glad that we did it. I want to especially thank the anonymous ACs and reviewers who really helped us pull this together.

Happy to share our new #CSCW2025 paper (with Lingyuan Li and Kelsea Schulenberg) about understanding people who have experienced both sides of harassment accusations in social VR. Pre-print: guof.people.clemson.edu/papers/cscw2...

A reminder that early bird registration for #group2025 ends today (Monday, December 9). If you haven't registered, please do so soon!

We should show off our steam library to each other 😉 I started some games more than a year ago and I still haven’t finished …

It’s Steam sales season again. It’s time to buy another 10 games that I have no idea when I would have time to play.

At the SIG, we also had a slide showing: gameplay is social in nature, games and play provides a nuanced context to study other core CSCW research topics, and game making is social. There are multiple papers on each aspect.

Thanks Elisa for starting this discussion! Yes in the SIG proposal, we cite some example papers to show what CSCW, or social computing in general, could learn from games and play. I think there are definitely more.

Hi Dan, can you add me? Thanks! Just created my account here yesterday.

My first post here: Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica! I had a day trip there and did zipline when I was attending #CSCW2024. Awesome experience! Next, #GROUP2025! Hope to see many of you there too!
