The #G-Lab is back! ✨
I’ve been travelling non-stop this term, but the team has been hard at work.

Our #MenopausePenalty paper is getting lots of attention, so we’re doubling down on #menopause, #work & #health.

Meet the 2025–26 team! 👇

Italy becomes the 1️⃣ country in Europe to recognise femicide as a specific crime — Parliament voted unanimously.

Proud of my country for calling gender-based violence what it is, & for taking a decisive step toward real accountability and protection. 🇮🇹✨

Italian parliament unanimously votes to make femicide a crime
The gender-motivated murder of a woman will now be covered by a distinct clause in Italian law - punishable by a life sentence.

📍 Core takeaway: early-years commitment must sit across all of government — health, DfE, Treasury, local authorities, communities — not just in isolated programmes.

The APPG is quickly becoming a vital space for evidence-driven, cross-party progress. Energising to be part of this effort. ✨

3️⃣ #Reach: families least connected to services often face the highest long-term costs.
4️⃣ #SEND: needs must be recognised from birth, not just at school entry.

I highlighted four priorities for a modern, equitable early-years system ⬇️
1️⃣ #Workforce: recruitment, retention, and clarity on who delivers what from pregnancy–age 2.
2️⃣ #Integration: reduce the maze; rebuild universal, joined-up support.

The discussion moved far beyond childcare → into pregnancy, parental leave, early relational health, family hubs, developmental milestones… and yes, Sure Start, still one of the clearest examples of what universal, integrated support can achieve when government works as one. 🔗

Privileged to join the #APPG for #Babies - chaired w/ real drive by Maya Ellis MP, w/ Freddie van Mierlo MP, Kieran Mullan MP & Lord Simon Russell of Liverpool.

The energy in the room was exceptional: cross-party, evidence-hungry, and focused on practical solutions for the first 1,001 days.💡

I am very happy to join #CSEF at University of #Naples as a #Research #Affiliate — a special homecoming to my #alma #mater: csef.it/people/gabri... 🙂

Grateful for the chance to reconnect, collaborate and contribute! ✨🇮🇹
