I was doing some digging on some online history of myself and stumbled on the 1999 30 Days in ActiveWorlds paper you did, I wanted to mention that I was a participant back then under the handle "Cyberhar" when I was a kid, and that was a precursor to the level design work I'm doing these days!

Data in the Sand - the proof of concept is now working for a dual-access (simple to make) stepper motor set up with two realtime data feeds - image shows 24 hours of wind speed (0 to 10mph) and direction (E to SE)..
