Many teams are moving away from user stories and epics, often because they've internalized the core concepts of user-centricity and end-to-end thinking, and now prefer more flexible approaches like raw tasks, goals, or detailed specs.

Ofc, it's more about the structures tho & what things are valued systemically. If there is no research role and your UXer is more on the UI than UX side, you can forget about user centricity e.g. & it's more likely to get backlog prioritised by the 'C-suite' with every new idea being high priority 🙃

So I think designers see products through the lens of user centricity. They are looking at the users systems, and seeing a great deal of complexity which is being ignored for the sake of simplifying the feature delivery system.
