updating edge with winget is unnecessarily annoying because the msi is a parallel installation from the windows store version (but it lets you uninstall the latter if the former is present). microsoft apparently declared this a feature for byod usecases. lmao

i'm sure there are usecases but i actually can't think of what i would want done like this
i feel like nixos is just like the less brittle less error prone version of this, and i will gladly put in some extra effort to not just chain apt commands that can randomly break

Antallet af usecases er jo ligegyldig når teknologien ikke er moden. Der er også masser af usecases for at mine asteroider, men det er heller ikke lige om hjørnet.

Chernobyl wasnt a failure of Nuclear energy. It was a failure of humans to manage it safely and responsibly. So yeah llms and machine learning are useful tools but have pretty negative usecases and can be used irresponsibly to the detriment of millions.

the big usecases for AI right now are:
-helping students cheat
-various kinds of porn

i think its still worth fighting for things like open source software (not in a puritan way or w/e but just like. the concept of software you can change to meet your usecases and check what it does is so important esp now)

That being said I view myself as fairly pro tech, I love VR even though that's kinda fallen by the wayside as an example but I do take a fairly harsh and calculating look at everything when it comes to actual usecases.

KI usecases sind halt bislang „begrenzt“, bzw. für sinnvolle Anwendungen ist der Markt gesättigt.
Deswegen müssen neue Märkte geschaffen werden.

Congratulations on the release, looks very promising. Fingers crossed for the release of image-based HMR! I hope to find some time in the near future to test and compare it with smpl-x for my usecases. Thanks 🙏

Then do away with the instruction, there are usecases for switch fall through, this just nerfs a valid optimisation, causing unnessiary duplication of code. True not every instance needs it, but its a handy tool.

...so the markets that have been allowed to operate are all run by MAGA weirdos. (the fact that it's also an inherently capitalistic hobby contributes to that belief too, although imho this is one of the best usecases for capitalism)

p sure that historically the industry's solution to the problem you're describing has been "lifetime licenses as the standard and extensive efforts towards backwards compatibility" (from microsoft's docs the motivating usecases for ARM64EC seem to be msoffice and pro audio)

I agree for most of it, but is it the developer/vendor that needs to list acceptable usecases or a higher regulation authority? 🤔
those certainly are a good example of good use & bad use (mind, not *misuse*) that an expert like *you* can come up with. my point however is that a developer/vendor needs to list acceptable usecase for there to be a clear misuse. otherwise vendors launder accountability to user claiming "misuse"

i mean the entire point of pipewire is that it's one solution that works for both consumer and pro audio usecases. asio does a lot of things that make it unsuitable for the former (most fundamentally, buffering is needed for good battery life on laptops)

Perhaps im too old school and remember the deep flaws of askjeeves but at least for me the full power of boolean conditions and immediately getting to source material fits my style and usecases far more. AJ fell out of favor because it pulled sus sourcing to make its summaries.

These are ideal for diy smart watches or Digital Audio Players (DAPs). I think their intended usecases are for IoT devices, but with a little help from our friends the 3D printer, micropython, and a little imagination, the sky is the limit!

in terms of balance alone, a humanoid is a very sub optimal design. how much time was spent getting them to walk that could have been spent expanding usecases of existing archetypes

@mntmn The D5005 are out of mnft/supp by intel and virtually abandoned. The people I supported who used it took quite a while to operate with.
