From 2000 to 2021, the proportion of surgical subspecialists increased from 38% to 58% among over 70,000 surgeons, leading to a reduced procedural scope for generalist surgeons and causing geographic variations in access to specialized care. ja.ma/4mlEt1T

"I spent 4yrs in Undergrad, 4yrs in Med School, another 4-5yrs in specialized residency training, and then another 2-3 on further subspecialization.

You watched a YouTube video and struggled for a "Gentleman's C" in High School Bio, so walk me through why you think we're on equal footing here"

(Claude misses existing project functionality a bit in the second point -- projects already allow this subspecialization -- but what it _would_ allow is agentic subscpecialization, and MoE style answers.)

not to reduce human experience to one drug or neurotransmitter, but chemical nature of our minds has to be embraced as an undeniable fact

what it takes to perform at the highest levels in one task can make you failure-prone in other arenas

this is a level of subspecialization no one talks about
To be a doctor you’ve got to be a little fascinated with the abyss of death and disease. Which also means that you might be the sort of person prone to getting pulled into that abyss. And SSRIs are an important tool in the not-falling-into-the-abyss toolkit.

Subspecialization in oncology increasingly utilized
Subspecialization in oncology is increasing, but varies widely across cancer types and regions, according to a study published online Aug. 12 in the Annals of Internal Medicine. Rene Karadakic, Ph.D., from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, and colleagues conducted a retrospective cohort study using Medicare claims data from 2007 to 2021 to quantify trends in oncologist subspecialized cancer care in the United States.

As a Med-Peds physician, there's also issues with how pediatrics handles the way it sees itself...is it a specialty like IM (subspeicialty training=clinical-focused)? or should all pediatricians know most esoteria, and reserve subspecialization for research (AKA what ABP thinks)?

In radiology, we often define subspecialization by degrees or fellowships. But true recognition comes when specialized physicians trust you with their patients.

A fellowship trains you; their referrals validate you.

Expertise isn’t claimed—it’s earned.

Meaning of #subespecialización SUBSPECIALIZATION restriction greater than the level of specialization, in particular in medicine and the armed forces. Traumatologists should be subspecialized into a small group of bones and muscles, such as hands or neck.. subespecialización

I’m a radiologist with subspecialization in advanced cardiac imaging. I cannot look at an aorta on a scan and know the patient’s gender. This is insane.

#2 - Kids, especially young ones (elementary grades) spend almost NO TIME on social studies or social-emotional learning. It's all literacy and math, all the time.
