'cos obviously the platitude responses our fella was having to pass on were based on human technology and means. But if the humans would fuckin communicate and coordinate in good faith with the sea folk, the whole issue would be solved so fuckin quickly.

the thing is you're supposed to practice specific things. you cant just "practice" art by drawing aimlessly, that's like "practicing" using a knife by swinging it in the air. that's why saying "practice" feels like such an empty platitude, its missing half the answer.
