Congratulations to Kiana Salehi, Perimeter PhD student who was awarded the Blue Apple Award for her talk, Influence of observer’s inclination and spacetime structure on photon ring observables.

The primitive pretty much every modern client-side framework uses for “fine-grained reactivity” (as opposed to React that just rerenders the whole component) is Signals, which are similar to observables but usually come with a setter as well. And yes, some implementations use JS Proxies.

This is why we called selection on observables designs “just controlling” in Theory and Credibility.

In the 'map of theories', this is a fixed point. Because it doesn't matter what the values if the mass parameters of the theory were different, in the limit of very high energies, physical observables would all look the same

It mainly covers matching on observables.

El Verso no tiene sentido matemático porque las matemáticas son un marco lingüístico humano que da explicación a fenómenos observables o traducibles a nuestra percepción espacio-temporal.

A key difference is that quantum theory at that point was far more up to the task of providing an explanation for the experimental observables than our current frameworks allow us in providing an explanation of current AI model behavior or representations.

(3) some questions about matching... "The underlying assumption is that matching
on observables also brings users and non-users close in unobserved dimensions that correlate
with observables." I think this is definitively not the consensus in 2025

I'm happy to say that I'll give two talks at @codemash.bsky.social, one comparing three JavaScript reactive primitives, and one about recent #Angular updates.

CodeMash is a lot of fun, and I'm glad to return. Come see us at a waterpark in Ohio in January!

✨ New preprint!

LLMs can generate text & images — but can they also discover equations in high energy physics?

Using the LLM-SR framework, we show they can uncover compact, interpretable forms for collider observables at the LHC!

We also certainly do not have a good handle as a field on how to define consciousness, or ways to describe its structural varieties, or how to phrase falsifiable hypotheses about observables that would be indicative of aspects of such structures.

In-progress, but presently mostly at ignorance.

#Maths isn't #Science

Science is (..) this bridge between the natural world as it is
& what we can understand with our finite mind

(..) a narrative that's understandable to us
from what is actually out there in the natural world

Also! If you believe that simultaneous eigenstates of a CSCO defines a unique basis, *and* that observables of two distinct "systems" will commute, you basically are pushed toward defining the Hilbert space of a composite system as a tensor product. Thus motivating entanglement, spooky action, etc.

Wooo!

Really what I love is working with RxJS and RxJS !== Observables but this is still exciting!
📢 We're finally looking to ship Observables in Chrome!! It's been a long time coming—many thanks to all in the community for the great feedback and help along the way!!

Especially @benlesh.bsky.social, @keithamus.social, @domenic.me, @jordan.har.band & more! 🙏

Escape from event listener callback hell! 🌋

Observables are nearly here!

el.when('mousemove')
.takeUntil(document.on('mouseup'))
.subscribe({next: e => … });

Clean: takeUntil handles cleanup
Declarative & concise
Efficient: No event handling after mouse released

does not modify the fate of the observables, but effectively jumps ahead in time without changing the system's inherent evolution. Just like the fast-forward button in a movie player that allows to quickly reach the part of [3/4 of https://arxiv.org/abs/2503.01447v1]

Do everything you can outside of your rendering framework.

If you think RxJS observables adds mental and technical overhead to logic, you might be right, but you’re fooling yourself if you think putting it in a react hook (and therefore a render cycle) is going to improve things.
