Not entirely sure where the glowy ears are from, but I know that the multi-coloured ears are referenced off of Liu'er Mihou (six ears macaque) from the animated series Monkey King (2009) this is the only picture I have of him sorry 😭😭

Have my monkeys throughout the ages! I tried to lean a little further away from lego monkie kid by referencing black myth outfits a bit!

The past versions of my Liu'Er/Macaque, Wukong with my YuXin: Macaque has white fur and bright blue eyes and has his red mask marking from lego monkie kid but with added lines of bright green, blue and yellow that cover the outside of his six ears. I like how people have been giving him a BIG HAT so i gave him one too to match the more "traveler" kinda vibe I put him in and then I colored his clothes to match the stripes on his face and ears. Wukong is a BRIGHT orange with light and dark stripes in his fur to mimic a tiger's eye stone, or stripped cliffs, as a callback to the stone he was born from. He has earthy green eyes and wears BRIGHT yellow and teal clothes along with a tiger skin draped over his shoulders and tied at his waist to mimic a kind of jacket- not pictured his the tiger's head he wears as a hood sometimes. YuXin has dark blue fur, dark blue eyes, a noticeably longer tail and very minimal markings on her face to further set her apart from the monkeys on flower fruit mountain since she's from a different region and species. She's in lavender and white clothes with a vague flower pattern on her skirt- the light colors are tied to her adoptive father so anyone who sees her gets a hint as to what family she's from. The sorta halfway arc versions of my Liu'Er/Macaque and Wukong with my YuXin: Macaque has died and been revived so there's a LOT going on with him. The whites of his eyes, his nails and most of his fur are dark now since he's got shadow magic. The colorful stripes on his face and ears are now a faded red since he lost all of his color when he died and he has a large scar over his right eye from Wukong- his right eye is also blind now and drained of all it's color. His clothes are looser and lack color, even his signature red cape that I kept from lego monkie kid is darker and more worn now. Wukong is now longer a BRIGHT orange, when he was thrown in the trigram furnace it permanently singed the fur on his limbs and head, with the tip of his tail being a bright yellow, as if it's still burning from the fires of the furnace, and his eyes are a bright red. There's teal stripes under his eyes to signify the tears he held during those 49 days he was trapped in the furnace and the bridge of his nose is also a teal now. His nails are permanently black and he dresses in slightly darker, looser clothes now. This is his post jttw outfit so he's kinda let himself go- man is SWIMMING in depression. YuXin's dark blue fur is now dotted with millions of little white stars that shift and twinkle CONSTANTLY and stardust now completely covers her head, neck, shoulders and half of her tail. She has a bright powder blue mask that covers most of her face and ears with crimson lines under her eyes that symbolize her rage she's kept bottled up during her mortal years. Her eyes are a bright blue and the whites of her eyes are a bit more yellow and mystical. She's wearing clothes that are easier for her to move in and has drifted away from her father's colors. Barely pictured here is a mostly concealed scar on her chest that runs down the length of her sternum, the same scar is also on her back and is the only physical reminder of the impalement that led to her death. Of COURSE I had to include Wukong in his CLASSIC KINGLY FIT and I couldn't leave the other two out. I tried to blend Macaque's armor from lego monkie kid and also a few armor pieces from black myth together to make his outfit here and I also gave him his hat back, but this time with a veil to make him look more mysterious! He's got his signature red cape as his main point of color to easier blend in with the shadows since I've always imagined him as a more rouge-assassin type. Wukong, in all of his glory, is DECKED OUT in GOLD, it's probably not gold since it's SUCH a soft metal, but it gives the appearance of gold. Like Macaque, I blended his outfit in lego monkie kid with black myth to make him look regal and flashy but also so very colorful and powerful. I didn't want to leave YuXin out so I put her in an old armor set I drew for her way back when, but I spruced it up with more vibrant colors and varying values. I referenced black myth a bit more with this design of her armor and tried to give her more points to link back to the four pointed stars I associate her with but also a scaled pattern on her armor so she's not too pointy.

Top Panels: The temple's entrance comes into view as a possessed Macaque uses his shadow abilities to slip closer. Upon reaching the door, he emerges from the shadows, summoning a lockpicking spell in the form of a glowing magical circle, pressing it against the entrance. Bottom Panel: Wukong, still by the pillars, scans the surroundings with his gold vision, looking for any threats. He speaks, "E.T.A. for potential threats is 4 minutes. How long do you think you'll need?" Top Panels: Macaque, the glowing blue magic circle still pulsing in his hand as he presses it to the door, replies, "Around... 3 minutes." He shivers as an unnatural chill courses through him. Bottom Panel: Noticing Macaque’s pause and the shiver, Wukong turns to glance over his shoulder, concern etched on his face. "... Are you alright?" Top Panels: Macaque turns his head slightly, flashing a smirk as he reassures, "I'm fine. It's just the protection spell of this place trying to dissuade me from lockpicking the door, but I can withstand a little cold." Bottom Panel: Wukong, still eyeing Macaque with concern, replies, "If you say so," before shifting his focus back to scanning the area for any approaching threats. Top-left Panel: Minute 1: Wukong stands rigid, clearly uncomfortable, as he tries to remain patient while Macaque works on the lock. Top-right Panel: Minute 2: Wukong is now visibly anxious, glancing repeatedly at Macaque, who's starting to shiver, heightening Wukong's worry. Bottom-left Panel: Minute 2.5: Wukong grows impatient, his tail twitching as Macaque struggles against the cold. Liu’er can be heard grumbling in the distance, while Wukong’s attention wavers, making it harder for him to focus on his task. Bottom-right Panel: Macaque flinches in surprise as Wukong suddenly yells, "OKAY, THAT'S IT!"
