that hp15c (upper left) and hp41cv(centre) i’ve owned since the 1980s. the hp15c was run over by a bulldozer and got 25 years out of one set of batteries. i will be cremated (or sky burial) with it.

Yes, mine is also an HP12C. I only just realised that the picture is an HP15C. I had to leave mine behind (and the huge manual for it) when I left that employer, but bought myself a second-hand one in 89/90. I thought I had killed it when batteries leaked, but it still works!

The HP11C was the middle child of the HP Voyager series introduced in the early 80s. Unlike his more famous big brother, the HP15C, the HP11C does not come with the root finder algorithm developped by William Kahan. Still, it is a very fine machine.

I always want a clever design. The HP15c below has less buttons than the FX5000, but is fully programmable, and fully supports matrix operations and complex numbers. Note that for square root, the antilogarithms and trigonometry, each button holds the inverse function.

I have a couple of my calculators from back then and they are still going strong. My HP15c had to have a new set of batteries last year.

The HP15C was the top scientific model of the Voyager series of pocket calculators made by HP in the 1980s. What made it a legendary device, apart from an incredible energy efficiency, was the very clever keybord layout. For instance, you could invert a matrix by just pressing the 1/x button.
