Beat FE:Fates Conquest Lunatic yesterday. Was a mostly fun experience (with a few notably painful chapters).
A few important characters from the run:
Elise, a young woman from Fire Emblem Fates with blonde hair tied up in pigtails. She's in the Sorcerer class, with capped Magic Speed and Luck, typically wielding a Lightning tome (though she has a Ragnarok equipped in the image). Her skills ended up not being especially relevant because she's pretty much always one-round killed enemies through brute magic power. Ophelia, daughter of Elise and Odin. She has Odin's lighter blond hair and wears an impractical outfit. She inherited Astra from Odin and Savage Blow from Elise, and is in the Dark Falcon class so she has Galeforce. She has capped Magic Speed and Luck, and she carries a variety of tomes both to activate her personal skill (granting additional crit for carrying 3 tomes) and to adapt to the situation. She ended up being ridiculously strong, almost entirely trivializing the final chapter of Conquest Lunatic because she can reliably kill two enemies every turn on her own, or three with a dance. Percy, son of Arthur and Niles. He has Niles's white hair, cut short. He wears a mask over part of his face, though his mouth and eyes are visible. He inherited Movement+1 from Niles and Gamble from Arthur (because I didn't have anything else worth passing on from Arthur, lol), and he wields a variety of axes. He actually ended up getting used a lot more than I anticipated because of his decent defense (34) and solid speed (30). Deleting units with Beruka's Axe was also very funny. Corrin, the player avatar. Wife of Effie, Mother of the world's okay-est Kana. (For real though, I had a build in mind but didn't end up using him enough for it to really go anywhere.) She has long pink hair and a tired expression. She is in the Master Ninja class, with capped Strength and Skill. She mostly served to debuff stronger enemies, but she could also pick off softer targets from time to time.

thinks about how fe:fates' whole conceit was "does your loyalty lie with your blood relatives or with the people who raised you" but because it was so committed to letting you romance your siblings it undercut itself by making you not ~actually~ related to your "blood relatives" family

Man Fe:fates had peak character design.. especially nohr!! I love the armor designs so much! The balance between style and 'function' is so good..

*sadly I have my gripes with some of the female outfits being too fanservicey 🫠

sometimes i navel-gaze on what if FE:Fates had good writing. the characters and setting and premise are pretty neat and dare i say had so much potential but the story of it all was such a disaster, like, could it be rewritten any better w/o completely tearing it all out and starting from scratch?
