It's much more Nioh than Dark Souls, but this is a very slick, fun hack n' slasher. Big focus on aggressive play and powering through enemy heavy attacks with your own.

Also due to the marketing being poor and confusing, also a spinoff from korean brawler-RPG hit Dungeon Fighter Online.

It *is* true in the context of, say, a level-based game about dungeon delving where one player is a level 8 wizard who has 50 options each combat round and the other player is a level 1 fighter whose options boil down to "attack" and "don't attack for some reason".

Last night I spent about an hour making some paper prototypes to test my new dice-based dungeon crawling game.

In short, it didn't work.

Not like "oh, it just needs a few tweaks" didn't work, but "the entire game engine is busted" didn't work.

This is very fucking frustrating.

Raven Software's first game was a dungeon crawling RPG called Black Crypt, so gothic dungeon fantasy was very much in their wheelhouse at the time.

I first played the PS1 version of Hexen and was immediately hooked by the RPG flavour with the classes you pick from and its exploratory nature.

Swift Master/Aiolos from Dungeon Fighter Online. Since I didn't draw him in his 2nd version in the original, I redrew, but will still post the original. Obviously this was because at the time, he was announced for DNF Duel and was practically my sole reason for playing it.
