Just started playing around with Godot to develop a game. I don't promise to finish it, but I missed this kind of stuff. Creative work at my pace is great, and I really like the way Godot works. I'm curious where this journey leads me!

I've released an update to Skythread with a new feature 😈 It lets you load subthreads that were hidden because of a "nuclear block". Look for orange links like on the screenshot - the first time you click it, you'll get a warning like here, asking if you want to keep seeing those. #atdev
☣️ Load hidden replies… ☣️ Infohazard Warning “This thread is not a place of honor... no highly esteemed post is commemorated here... nothing valued is here.” This feature allows access to comments in a thread which were hidden because one of the commenters has blocked another. Bluesky currently hides such comments to avoid escalating conflicts. Are you sure you want to enter? (You can toggle this in the menu in top-left corner.) Show me the drama 😈 / Nope, I'd rather not 🙈

I built an app to visualize progress from my 2024 dev journal, using AI to summarize notes into an API. This tool lets me search milestones, see monthly overviews, and review daily checkpoints. Now I know my big wins when asked in a 1:1!

I'm gonna do an experiment with posting semi-regular ~weekly updates on what I'm working on, tagged #DevJournal 🤔 Starting with the last week here, and the week before below. #buildinpublic
Feed service: added index by DID + timestamp to the posts table; this will let me start deleting all posts from someone when an account is deleted (previously I was only deleting single posts on post delete, but not on account delete) and it’s needed for a new experimental feed I’m working on which needs to be able to load recent posts from some number of people This seems to have slowed down some SQL operations, so I spent some time debugging this, but I didn’t come to any conclusions yet, other than I disabled the post deleting for now and I’m gonna look into finally replacing SQLite with a more server-oriented SQL database, as several people have advised me 😛 I also started tracking Nostr accounts bridged via Bridgy, which were previously ignored because their handles were too long. Skyfall: added support for the new "account" event, sent when account status changes, which will replace the deprecated "tombstone" event, and for the chat declaration record type.

Skythread: added support for loading the full contents of Mastodon posts bridged via Bridgy which are shown truncated because they’re longer than 300 characters; the original text is loaded from the Mastodon API (as long as there’s a link to the original post and the server supports it). I’ve also added the DOMPurify library to sanitize the loaded post body, since it’s returned as HTML and could potentially try to inject some scripts. Mastodon posts are also shown with a little Mastodon logo in the header, and the handle is shown in the “handle@server” form, hiding the ap.brid.gy suffix. I’ve been also working on a feature that would let you load some missing replies in a thread that were hidden because of a block between the parent comment author and the reply author. (Not finished yet, I need to think a bit more about the UX of this.) - Stats page: added weekly moving average lines on the daily charts and a new weekly posting users chart
