So many times tourists point blank refuse to make the return journey across the bridge and have to be taken back by boat. 😂 The bridge has many 100s of thousands of visitors a year.

Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (locally pronounced carrick-a-reed) is a rope bridge near Ballintoy in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The bridge links the mainland to the tiny island of Carrickarede. There have been many instances where visitors, unable to face the walk back across the bridge, have had to be taken off the island by boat.

It spans 20 metres (66 ft) and is 30 metres (98 ft) above the rocks below. Now owned and maintained by the National Trust.

The wee white bothy was used by men fishing for the salmon that passed thru’ under the bridge - a tradition dating back to the 18th century which has been banned since early 21st century ☘️

#Titanic Museum in #Belfast was quite moving actually… but currently parked up overnight in a lovely little harbour village, #Glenarm - on the way to that #ropebridge at #CarrickaRede then #GiantsCauseway #ferry to #RathlinIsland if weather improves!!
