Thoughts: Dienes presents a different way to compute BFs using the sample data. But, this can be seen as an acceptable double-dipping.

1. This is an extension of theogic behind Cohen's d (doesn't make it good).

2. This is also the parameterization in the popular BayesFactor package (and by extention JASP/jamovi) which has been criticized:

#statstab #402 On Bayes factors for hypothesis tests {emBayes Factor}

Thoughts: On bsky there were renewed debates about BFs. This paper provides "better" priors (mixture t centred on the ES). Also some p-value BFs

Yes, I recall corresponding with Jeff Rouder and EJ Wagenmakers regarding this misspecification back in 2019. Happy to see this corrected and used as the new versions of JASP 😃 (maybe someday this will also be the default in the BayesFactor R package)

For a Bayesian paired t-test with a custom prior in R, am I right that this is not yet in major libraries like @richarddmorey's Bayesfactor and the best option is Gronau, @AlexanderLyNL, & @EJWagenmakers's code (https://osf.io/37vch/)?
