#automatised
hit that point at work where i'm just letting automatised transphobia slide bc i don't have the stamina, sick of complaining about it futilely

GDPR art. 4 and 22 could be used to oppose this kind of automatised, high-impact process : why not just teach people about consent and organ donation in their lifetimes, instead of resorting to this expensive (and intrusive) AI bullshit ?

I’m not sure but I don’t think so. I was just thinking that because it’s a functional/grammatical chunk it’s likely to be more automatised and therefore less conscious

The term ADM (Automated Decision Making) is problematic as it implies algorithmic harms can be fixed by a human-in-the-loop. Real decisions arise from entangled feedback between algorithmic authority and human judgement; the decisions aren't automated but automatised.

@imlunahey.com you "good thoughts" posts, you didn’t type them by hand, you automatised the thing, did you? XD

You don't go through them by yourself, you've automatised the process, right?

… in that the music at large was convulsing to be free of a lot of automatised habits now deemed to be "holding us back" (long bluesy solos!) (bluesy lyrics!) (bluesy riffs!)

ppl felt there other things were possible (💯% correct tbf) and barred the door to the laggards so-called… 2/5

Skin care I have my face wash automatised on amazon and it would be incredible if I could get a subscription with good store for that!! Maybe a plan with a good face wash and body lotion every few months and in the mean time you get a different face mask or something idk. Oor something for my cat 🤷🏻‍♀️

Tbf there is something to be said there for that being an extremely automatised job these days, basically more than any other kind of driver

Since I got more of them, some following >2000 accounts I am still researching. It is very likely that the mass-following is automatised and quite likely the follow-unfollow-follow pattern too. Probably since a lot of people blindly follow back but might just miss the notification.

@tml @titia There's been a lot of porn spam during the past days. Using different accounts and different servers, probably automatised. I've reported them to the original instance, and all of them have blocked them as they should.

Art has been sacrificed.
I admire anybody that still feels the need in themselves to create.
I’ve been burnt out even since it’s been automatised.

I have spent most of this night trying to figure out which research question could be answered via an update of Cancionero Virtual (its technology more than its data), so I had an argument in favour of its recovery, and I could not come up with anything. Automatised stemmata were already done.

by automatised i mean The Computer is doing it to me, and it's easier to upset me than it is to upset The Computer

Incredible. We need to resist this kind of automatised systems that don't recognise an essential part of ourselves, namely our name. This is in addition harmful careerwise, since some of our work becomes disconnected from us. Greets from she who must not be (but occasionally is being)named Cock,B.D.

Yes, the praise of the atory was very vague. So that might even be automatised and only when someone answers the scammer jumps in.

One uses one's conscious mind. One thinks as one works. However, when one learns to touch-type using all the digits, the skill is #automatised and moves to one's subconscious, freeing the conscious mind to think and concentrate on more essential #literacy skills such as:

Are you aware by using a generative ai image in your article you are complicit in automatised robbery of artists and damaging the environment by wasting energy and resources in the process? Also it's looking hideous!
Hire artists or use stock photos.

able to justify taking the time for that if it can be 'automatised'? - which is why it is important to have the conversation whether it really can (I'm not sure). But it is an interesting experience, which I think can be useful, and surely it took a lot of high-quality work from the team. Thanks!

N=67 infants were tested on their discrimination of the native 🇳🇴 vowels /y-i/ and the non-native 🇬🇧 vowels /ʌ-æ/, with an automatised, gaze-contingent habituation procedure. As perceptual narrowing supposedly occurs after 6mo, we predicted successful discrimination of both contrasts. ✅ 2/

@mara_barberis very popular poster exploring the added value of natural speech in aphasia assessment using automatic speech recognition and assessment.

I enjoyed learning about Mara's work to bring automatised speech assessment tools to Dutch speakers. #AoA2023

But with the absolutely horrendous auto translate feature (because translating will NEVER be properly automatised) there's a guaranteed hell in any long form video with the painstakingly monotone TTS voice killing all the mood of any video it touches. Being bilingual online on its way to get worse.
