tear a hole in
midnight skies,
may drain oceans
and fell entire forests;
but it is mine and I’ll
wield her as I see fit

she lives in a realm
suffused with mist,
disassociation draped
and wrapped in a veil
of hymnal silence

ghosts dissolve in the hush
soft as echoes
of a forgotten psalm,
and time drifts like
a slow, sorrowed stream
carrying fragments of a self
she no longer recalls
