Gena Rowlands was born in Cambria, Wisconsin in 1930 to Welsh-American parents, she was a four-time Emmy and two-time Golden Globe winner, twice nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress.

Evan Williams from Dale, Pembrokeshire 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 emigrated to the USA towards the end of the 18th century. In 1783, he founded Kentucky's first commercial distillery.

Edwin Myrwyn Rowlands was a Welsh-American member of the Wisconsin State Assembly and the Wisconsin State Senate. He was born in Cambria, Wisconsin, and was the father of Academy Award-nominated actress Gena Rowlands.

Tommy Farr was a Welsh boxer from Clydach Vale, Rhondda, nicknamed "The Tonypandy Terror".

On August 30, 1937 he fought Joe Louis at Yankee Stadium, New York.

The bout was named The Ring magazine Fight of the Year for 1937.

Martha Maria Hughes Cannon was born near Llandudno, Wales in 1857. She was a physician, women's rights advocate, suffragist, and in 1896, she became the first woman elected as a state senator in the United States.

Milwaukee's first brewery was founded in 1840 by Welsh settlers.

Richard G. Owens, originally from Llanfair-is-Gaer in Caernarfonshire, joined forces with fellow Welsh immigrants William Pawlett and John Davis to open the brewery.

The Briceville Church in Tennessee.

Built in 1888 by Welsh coal miners, the church features twin steeples and entrances, due to the Welsh miners having falling out and splitting into two factions.

St. David's Church in Aurora, Illinois, held its groundbreaking ceremony on March 1, 1958. A cornerstone made of gray Cambrian limestone, shipped from Saint David’s Cathedral in Wales, was laid and sealed on February 28, 1959.

Edward Morgan Lewis, originally from Machynlleth 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 was a Major League Baseball player who played for the Boston Beaneaters and Boston Americans from 1896 to 1901. He later became a professor of English literature and served as the fifth president of the University of New Hampshire.
