#WeekOfWorldbuilding

Did we save the best for last? Maybe, but it's Kickstarter launch day, and it's worth talking on the subject of Communication! Now within a world, we often can think that information is just shared, but history and knowledge can easily be twisted or lost, no?

What a trooper Alex was today, and what a beautiful penultimate day of our week! Join us after one sleeps worth of time to ring in the final day of #WeekOfWorldbuilding with @creativemagpie.bsky.social tomorrow, as we launch the What's My Foundation kickstarter!
Finally! We've answered all of the polls for today's history segment of #WeekOfWorldbuilding. Our last two results for minor events were voted on, and we arrived at:

5th minor event: Climate or Environmental Catastrophes
6th minor event: Monumental Construction or Infrastructure projects.

Fun!

A relatively well established people...what does their history hold? 👀 #WeekOfWorldbuilding
For our #WeekOfWorldbuilding, the first poll results are in! As such, I'm going to settle on sentient humanoid history as having been developing for approximately 3,000 years now.

With 3 major events, that would put at least 1 major event every 1,000 years - with minor events sprinkled between.
Poll results are in!

Winning with 7 votes, our sentient civilization is anywhere between 1,001 and 10,000 years old. As a result, we're going to have 3 major events, and 6 minor events, throughout the course of history so far.

Y'all I just want you to know, I've been drafting some of my responses for the history lore wrap up for the #WeekOfWorldbuilding, only for the answers that we've already voted on, to get a little ahead of the curve and...

Woof guys I feel like this wrap up is gonna be a LONG thread 😭

We've got about 30 minutes left on this poll for the #WeekOfWorldbuilding, so you've still got plenty of time to slip in your votes, if you haven't already!

Good morning all and welcome back to the #WeekOfWorldbuilding!

We're getting a slightly later start this morning due to me waking up with a terrible headache, so I appreciate your patience as I finally get the ball rolling.

I hope you will join me as we delve into the history of our world! 📜🌍🪶

Also, before we start, many many thanks to @despisedsamaritan.com for posting the summary of what's happened so far everyday in the #WeekOfWorldbuilding -- for those of us out there (like me!) who, even though we've been following along, don't retain information well! It's been extremely helpful!

Here we go!! History day of #WeekOfWorldbuilding with our friend @alexsgamingcorner.bsky.social ! I think this is gonna be a blast, come join in!

Heads up to everyone, by the way: this #WeekOfWorldbuilding poll is going to be ending as soon as my Sunday D&D game is starting for the night. So there will be a gap between when the poll ends & when I can *actually* post the results, & then the wrap up. So hang in there with me guys! Be back soon!

For our #WeekOfWorldbuilding, the results of our third poll, determining our first two minor events, are in!

1st minor event: Massive Economic Shift or Crisis
2nd minor event: Founding or Overthrow of a Major Order

Exciting! Adding those to the cauldron 🪶📜🌍

Okay y'all, poll results are in for our first two minor events! We have another tie for second place, so once again for simplicity's sake, I'm going to take the option that appears 1st in the list.

So we've got:
1st: Massive Economic Shifts or Crises
2nd: Founding or Overthrow of a Major Order

And as someone still learning how to use Strawpoll: the poll now has a timer on it, ha, so it'll be running (at this point) for a little under an hour!

So if you'd like to help vote for the #WeekOfWorldbuilding starter poll on where we're going to start nailing out some history, now is the time!

Tomorrow, the #WeekOfWorldbuilding goes to @alexsgamingcorner.bsky.social for a touch of History!! Exciting ^_^
And to many who reside in the Southern Archipelago, it's still worth preserving.

Well folks, my time for #WeekOfWorldbuilding is up. Hopefully you enjoyed this display of "What's My Foundation" by Runic Press. Again, I recommend you give their Kickstarter a look over, I do believe you may like it.

Alrighty. I'm awake, I'm ready to go, and I've got a poll ready for you all.

Like I said, we'll be focusing on one location in particular for our Anthropology portion of #WeekOfWorldbuilding, but let me pitch you what options we have for our little TTRPG setting.
September 20, 2025 at 12:50 PM
The results are in, and an archipelago takes it with a commanding lead! Let's see where this is going...👀
#WeekOfWorldbuilding
Aaand that is a wrap! Looking at our results, it appears that our focus is going to be on the Southern Archipelago!

A mainland, coastal position, with numerous islands and beaches, a location like this is effectively, *perfect* for trade cities.

Day Five of #WeekofWorldbuilding - a collaborative project to design a world using @runicpressgames.com's upcoming "What's My Foundation?" TTRPG book as a guide.

I am Conor, GM of Dicefunctional, and today, we'll talk Anthropology. But before we begin, let's recap.

We're continuing our #WeekofWorldbuilding with today's focus on Anthropology. What are the cultures and ancestries who most prominently shape the region we're focused on.

But first, we needed to decide on a region! Looks like the Southern Archipelago. Come join in the fun and help build a world!

#WeekofWorldbuilding

The northern tundra is an icy place of mystery and strangeness. Colorful auroras rain motes of light down, while frozen spirits of the howling dead wail from the thick glacial ice that surrounds the landmass.
#WeekofWorldbuilding

The eastern desert is a broad arid shrubland where the very bushes move with the winds. A strange, morphic place that never seems to sit still, some no doubt try to find some order or rhythm in the ever-changing landscape.
Our first #WeekofWorldbuilding poll is done:

The southern archipelago is home to a massive leviathan, a filter feeder who exacerbates tidal conditions with its massive maw.

Let's dive into the Biology of our world for #WeekOfWorldbuilding. First, we must define some of the biomes of our world.

An entire planet is too much for us to focus on in this brief thread, but let's start with one: the southern archipelago.
