#UDFS
Currently, we don't have the option to scope who can't create Data Warehouses but can create UDFs or Notebooks. Etc. Once we have per-item type creation, we can have this discussion.

Today you have one task: update DAX Studio to 3.4.0.

If you have a model with DAX UDFs (user-defined functions) or Calendars, here is the version that correctly handles autocompletion and VPAX export.

𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘁? Now you can!

Matt I lived in Columbus for six months after being out of Ohio for 17 years and did you know there are basically no UDFs in Cleveland anymore?

I do not know when the switch happened (they were here growing up) but it being so close taunts me.

Industrializing Chart Modifications with Visual Calcs, DAX UDFs and C# Scripts by Bernat Agulló Roselló www.esbrina-ba.com/industrializ...
Modify Power BI Charts with C# Scripts using Visual Calcs and DAX UDFs
This article proves you can use a C# Script to create visual-calc DAX UDFs and apply them to one of the charts of a report, saving time.

Reference Tables and Columns in UDFs
It's time to make your Power BI Semantic Models easy to update, easy to develop, and ensure all measures conform to established business logic. You can use UDFs to help! UDFs are a very useful feature...

I'll need more hints -- I just give it a try and it looks as if DAX UDFs can be used, but can't be seen in the model view... kind of spooky tbh

What if I told you it's possible to add dax udfs in your model specific to Visual Calcs, but not only that you can then go on and create those visual calcs using the dax udfs to achieve tool things, all in one (long) script? www.esbrina-ba.com/industrializ... #PowerBI #TabularEditor #PBIR

New Blog Post! Now that we have DAX UDFs we can finally encapsulate repetitive logic to define axis max and min for example. But then again, creating all those visual calcs is quite boring isn't it? ...

just made a c# script that creates DAX UDFs to be used from Visual Calculations, but not only that it actually modifies a chart in the report adding a couple measures (hidden) 3 visual calcs using those new functions (hidden as well) and assigns the visual calcs to the max and min of the Y axis.

functions centralize logic useful everywhere but may have dependencies on the model. A C# script can create the functions customizing as needed.

I'm was trying to figure out how to create DAX UDFs in #TabularEditor. Imagine my surprise when I found a Kurt Buhler video claiming "This video teaches you how to add DAX UDFs in Tabular Editor 3" but doesn't create a single function during the entire 9 minutes. 🤯
