actually also I just realized I can't even get away with this (at least not directly) bc it has to be tiled into another material, so I can't do the thing with mirroring stuff that goes off the edge of the txture bc the edges won't be there....... But I could probably mirror those parts manually

Burgers are sort of a mouthful experience tbh. With onions pickles lettuce and dressing the "beef patty" just needs to resemble something slightly chewy and smokey and would never notice.

Grilled portobello cap works well too. Similar txture to ground beef patty.

More 'recipe' tests using the local am dram soc for figure reference. This time testing using real pencils (6B, 8B) on top of photoshop blueline pencils that were printed on Bristol board. Then scanning into PS - flatting, colouring with tons of colour hold layers as per the previous recipe.

Looking at the different versions of the same woman who seems to be having some sort of vision inspired by a about a can of drink. Final coloured version of the previous drawing using the same photoshop 'recipe' = scan the drawing in, flat it with roughly the right colours, layer everythign in tons of colour holds to add depth and txture to the original drawing/inks. I'm particularly pleased with the photoshop brush I created to mimic the pattern printed on her blouse. I am not happy with how the cans turned out.
