The Apache/AGE project is just about the sweet spot. Gimme an optional escape hatch any day.

I’ve used neo4j in prod once, and it’s fine, if very temperamental.

I don’t like the ergonomics of tinkerpop and this gremlin so I’ve avoided Neptune (aws) as it’s the only “scale” option

oh, so you hate the Tinkerpop?

Been trying to interact with a @cosmosdb graph via #gremlin / TinkerPop and I've got to say, the @neo4j ecosystem seems much more mature & Cypher seems like a much nicer query language for the graph. Switching back to it for now.

Three years ago I was learning Gremilin for TinkerPop, since I really want to use a graph database for this project and I hate Cypher.

Now I'm looking at this code and going "how the fuck does this work, again?”

is the tinkerpop gremlin furbait?

At #YouTrackDB, we're frequently asked why we've invested so heavily in Apache TinkerPop's #Gremlin, especially given #GQL rising popularity.

ho boy, here there be dragons...

i'm a fan of neo4j (a graph database) but that's sort of an older tech. i think the "tinkerpop" style of graph databases ultimately won the graph wars, so you might want to find a db that supports "gremlin". one benefit of neo4j is it comes w a beautiful interface
