It follows a dynamiter in the Spanish Civil War as he experiences fear, courage, love, loss, and the best and worst of humanity.

'Blood Meridian' by Cormac McCarthy - this story follows a teenage runaway in the mid-1800s while violence engulfs the American South.

Considered one of the greatest 20th c. novels, this book is not for the faint hearted!

Sam's recommendation this week is 'Before the Coffee Gets Cold' by Toshikazu Kawaguchi (2015) - the story of a café that allows its customers to return to the past but must return before their coffee gets cold.
