Wow what a fun mass spectrometer! Our preprint peaks with an MS4 experiment on oligos in negative mode, combining three different ion isolation modes and three different activation methods: electrons for EDD, collisions, and IRMPD 😅 www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

The Smokey Joe/MIDAS U-2Ds carried an optical spectrometer, scanning for missile exhaust plumes, in a special rotating "pickle-barrel" housing atop the fuselage, behind the pilot station. A second crewman behind the pilot operated the MIDAS instruments.

On reflection, could we get the installation on an insectocutor on the top of flat instruments past the health and safety people. I mean, nobody is at risk of they don’t use the spectrometer as a table to store samples, right?

A device for early detection of gastrointestinal tumors
The new device, which bears the name “endoscopic mass spectrometer,” represents a qualitative achievement in the field of medical diagnosis, as it can distinguish high-risk from low-risk tumors during the endoscopic process, without the need for additional procedures or repeated biopsies. This innovation, which was accomplished under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Abdel-Ahad and Dr. Reyhaneh Mahdavi from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tehran, and Dr.

😄 😁 quite the anecdote. That's a good one to share on social media. I guess Jack didn't want to follow his dad in the mass spectrometer business.

I bet your dad had a lot of guys. Condenser guy, blower guy, etc.

Indeed. One of my favorites is he asked me if I knew of a tech guy named Jack Dorsey, I said "yes, he helped found Twitter," and he says "Oh yeah, his dad is my mass spectrometer guy." Which is hilarious because I did not know my dad had a mass spectrometer guy.

The Sky; the Moon; a Candle; ... and many more

and recording their spectra. Enjoy!

Friends, this week I been mainly pointing the spectrometer I bought at various sources of light and taking a look at their spectra. Please join me on a romp through my results. Warning. I love this…
