Rewatching the Slitheen two-parter & it made me realise why centering Unit was such a mistake for "Vol3"; they go to such lengths to show that this was the first time the officials involved had dealt with such a crisis. That gave it so much more energy & life than if battled-hardened experts swan in

It absolutely definitely was. Space Babies wasn’t even that bad, it just pointed to all of RTDs old Aliens of London Slitheen fart jokes, which … no one wanted back again. But most of the other one-offs are genuinely really good fun. Or terrifying. Or both. Strong recommend x
