A silence falls upon my heart
And hushes all its pain.
I stretch my hands in the long grass
And fall to sleep again,
There to lie empty of all love
Like beaten corn of grain.

Isn't Swift's about/inspired by the poem by Elizabeth Siddal?

Elizabeth Siddal, #TaylorSwift's Ophelia, wrote poems called "too hopelessly sad for publication". We published them. They are sad, but also powerful and visionary. Check them out at your favorite bookstore or ElizabethSiddal.com #hasselblad #photography #portrait #photosky

Like so many pictures of these parts from a century or more ago, much has changed in this view of Siddal near Halifax from an old picture postcard. So many of the buildings - the houses, factories, and schools - have gone, and the canal has long since been abandoned. ...

We are SPOILED to have Buck (or Joe Siddal) on colour and Dan Schulman in the play-by-play. They’re knowledgeable, curious, extremely fair, and they love and respect the game.

This year, like every year, has seen a number of shitty, lazy comments from other team’s booths about our team & country.

Interesting to hear Joe Siddal say he doesn't think Beiber won't be there in the 6th or 7th inning but we'll see, maybe not the 7th but the 6th can be fesable if he is good to go. #bluejays

I'm now trying to track down a comic piece of verse I read when I was quite young, about Siddal posing for Millais, with the lines 'it's enough to congeal ya, posing for Ophelia'.

Additional Facts:

Despite her ethereal beauty and talent, her own life took a tragic turn. After years of fragile health and heartbreak, she fell into deep melancholy.

Dependent on laudanum and grieving the loss of her child, she died at just 32 years old.

Did you know?

In the Victorian era, Elizabeth Siddal became one of the most famous models of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.

She posed for John Everett Millais’s Ophelia, lying for hours in a bathtub filled with water so the artist could capture the drowned heroine.
