Ran out of battery. I guess you just can’t trust these things to be reliable.

It’s not even 20 years old I don’t think.

Vlan, diode, air-gap, anti-virus, patch: are these solutions useful, essential, or on the contrary not very suitable to secure an industrial SI? These are questions that naturally arise both for an existing site as well as for a new project, and for which the answers vary according to the experts. These mini-debates are a form of continuation of the article "architecture" of the "industrial security" file appearing in the…

RSA SecurID Authenticator and Symantec VIP Access are the bullshit ones. they literally just use TOTP however instead of installing a shared secret they instead require enrolment with some backend service. assholes.

Companies can use FOBs like the RSA Securid one (more secure than MicroSoft or Google authenticator), but then it's the company that must pay for the fob. Companies prefer to save that money and force the employee to use their smartphone.

My best guess is there's just some sort of random seed that both client and server know and it's time based

When my dad worked for Rockwell Collins he had this little keychain tag that had a number on it (RSA SecurID) and I got no clue how that stays synced for years on end with no time antenna

Does the major gap between the level of the threat and the protective measures implemented on French critical infrastructure has a chance to be reduced in 2015? Several elements make it possible to hope: the revelation in 2014 of magnitude attacks including if industrialists, the advances of the ANSSI SCADA security program, and ... the arrival of dedicated security products (proving that 'There is a market!)

What *is* the "VPN" status item on macOS supposed to be, even? It is sort of reminiscent of a SecurID from the 90s, which I guess is sort of cognitively adjacent to a "VPN" for a certain audience but surely people younger than 50 still use VPNs
