Not quite in the same league as the St Albans Yarnbombers who decorate more than 100 postboxes each Christmas with little knitted creations but our town has weighed in with this Easter effort. I think it’s cracking. I just hope it doesn’t rain.
A basket filled with multi-coloured eggs is surrounded by small rabbits, chicks and hats, all knitted in wool. They sit on a mauve wool base that is edged with daffodils, again knitted in wool. This is attached to the top of the red postbox. Underneath you can see the slot for posting letters plus the times and dates for collections. In the background, beyond the road and a green hedge, a large detached house stands against a blue sky.
