My current obsession with the unfinished web app I abandoned over a decade ago has resulted in me spending the entire weekend coding and taking this next week off to try and finish it. It’s so nice working with a mature, coherent codebase (Rails) compared to the madness of Unity and PolySpatial.

just FYI unity polyspatial converts everything to RealityKit entities so the rendering quality is the same..

Now that the metal_enable extension is out, I’d love to see someone do a “MoltenXR” for Vision Pro! I also *really* don’t like Polyspatial, it blocked us from porting Open Brush. A necessary thing to keep Apple happy I know… Glad visionOS 2.0 has a sensible Passthrough API!

You can also render to RealityKit. This is what Unity’s PolySpatial library does.
I’m afraid I don’t know anything about OpenXR support.

Sounds like I will be getting private beta access to Polyspatial after asking so many people 🎉 I tell you guys, be persistent, be consistent, don’t give up, anything you do just keep at it!

👉 Also, as soon as I get access I will test it out in depth & show it as it becomes public.

These are about 3 million points streamed per second. Not too bad, but the RealityKit/Polyspatial performance lags severely behind the metal rendering in unbounded mode. 50 million+ points per second are easily possible there!
