From Wikipedia:
With his direct appeal over, Wright motioned the trial court for Post Conviction Relief (PCR), claiming police and prosecutorial misconduct in his case. 1/3

The PCR positivity map is out, and you might notice something a bit different this week.

From now onwards the map includes Scotland, using the same metric: PCR test positivity.

Fungus! #IDSky

Given most diagnoses (>80%) of serious fungal diseases are made with non-culture tests, antigen, PCR, and antibody tests should be used for better care and often faster results; combining mycological tests can be beneficial.

CrAg for the win!🥇

At his 1996 PCR hearing, during Wright's cross-examination of a veteran police detective James Dugan, the detective confessed to police misconduct in his case.

I've been zero covid since 2020. This week I got sick, with a fever. I have a home test kit with pcr test level accuracy, so I know I still haven't had covid

And all this getting sick has taught me is that I've really enjoyed never getting sick for the past 6 years

And many of the organisms I was trying to pull out single genes from were on the list (e.g., Deinococcus radiodurans, Aquifex, Pyrococcus, ...). So, talked to Ham after his talk, confirmed the details of the list, and dropped PCR and shifted to a focus on analyzing genomes 4/n

Yet they could start with really easy mitigations of HEPAS, fans, air circulation and having ALL staff masking. I’m literally the only masked person when I visit my MIL. Add in some PCR machines and maybe some Far UV and voila… a completely different environment

FREEDOM!!!! After 6 whole days of limited duties and being careful around people.

Just in time to go away for a week.

But the latest strains drag out... go carefully out there folks.

Tried a PCR twice. Failed twice. Guess what. You are never too experienced to forget to reverse complement the reverse primer. 😂

I’m so sorry. This is a shocking violation.

Everyone who comes to my place masks, or takes a PCR test (I have a machine). I’m comfortable with being indoors in that scenario, Anyone making a fuss over that or going outside, let alone doing this, is not treating you with any degree of respect.

If a person wasn't being tested regularly, it'd take days for COVID-19 symptoms to manifest & prompt them to seek PCR testing, longer yet to make it to a testing site, & days more for the swab to be processed. 39/?
November 7, 2025 at 4:05 AM
As you can imagine, tallies of COVID-19 cases no longer accurately represented the number of people being infected. PCR testing sites closed in the spring of 2022; by October that year, the discrepancy was ~100-fold (bccovid-19group.ca/post/2022-10...). 42/?

So anyways shoutout to Kary Mullis who actually made one of the biggest contributions to Forensic DNA analysis and biochemistry by inventing the PCR.
