No more worries with thick hair blocking #fNIRS signals! The Brite optodes & holders are designed so you can easily move hair aside & quickly ensure perfect scalp contact.

Better signals, smoother measurements, and faster setups—so you can focus on what really matters! 🧠✨

And I published a preprint🥳
We combined O2-sensitive optodes, root imaging, and N2O microsensors to identify and characterize N2O hotspots in the rhizosphere of maize🌽

I don't have a paper, but we could measure/map it using Microsensors and/or planar optodes. Can't tag Klaus Koren as he's not on bluesky, but please reach out if you're interested!

Oxygen measured by optodes can drift with time and is influenced by pressure when the optodes go into the deep ocean. We correct for both of these issues and show accuracy of about 1%!

😎 Fascinating new multimodal work from Rogers et al (2025) introducing a co-localized #fNIRS#EEG cap using custom grommet designs.

High-density fNIRS optodes to attach directly to EEG electrodes, without interference.

optodes' positions may have a greater impact on measurements of absolute scattering versus absorption coefficients. For example, 4.1% and 19% average errors in absolute absorption and scattering, respectively, can be expected by displacing every [4/6 of https://arxiv.org/abs/2505.00892v1]

✨ Integration
With our SAGA/APEX–Brite packages, integrated holders allow #fNIRS optodes and #EEG electrodes to be placed at the same spot. This simplifies setup and expands the possibilities of combining modalities.
