In Washington specifically the Trump administration through ice is pressuring the nisqually tribe to host a detention center on tribal lands. They've been circumventing the normal tribal council process in order to try and make this happen. They want it on sovereign indigenous Land to evade laws.

We should be building dedicated track for Amtrak Cascades right now. That was the plan in 2006. For example, there is a 26 mile segment south of Nisqually River delta where dedicated track could be built. As of today, Airo trainsets will be limited to 79 mph and average only 53 mph to Portland.

U.S. Immigration recently reached out to the Nisqually Tribe in an attempt to secure additional immigrant-detention in Washington, the tribe said it will not house detainees now or in the future.

Yep, JBLM took about 2/3rds of what was them the Nisqually Reservation, and still stands. The Reservation is now only 1,728 acres after 3,353 were stolen.
