Just a friendly reminder that if you want the scoop on what’s going on with Hurricane Hilary, you should follow @NHC_Pacific, @NWSLosAngeles, @NWSSanDiego, @NWSWPC, @NWSVegas, @NWSPhoenix, and other official sources - not random people who post their own thoughts on Twitter.

Here’s a graphical depiction of peak winds in the coming Santa Ana wind event from @NWSSanDiego. Damaging winds downing trees+power lines creating large power outages and hazardous travel conditions are likely. The fire danger is extreme. Any fire will explode in size. #cawx

As @NWSSanDiego has issued a high surf advisory through the week, we wanted to remind everyone to always swim in view of a lifeguard and watch for rip currents.

Hard to believe, but @NWSSanDiego sez we got TWO INCHES of rain last night. We're lucky if we get any moisture most days, .01 if there's rain. All I could think about was the poor hummers ... but there was Mama this 50℉ a.m., feeding at least one baby.

@NWSSanDiego A pattern change is on the horizon! We're still expecting widespread rain, mountain snow, and breezy west winds from Sat evening into Tue morning. The most widespread activity is expected Sun evening into Mon. There is even a chance of isolated thunderstorms

Dear @NWSSanDiego my six year old is very interested in all things weather - converting from imperial to metric, monitoring humidity, etc. Can I bring him to a field office where he can learn more & see some of the tools you use (radar, etc). I want to encourage his curiosity. 🙏
