#NOVELLAVEMBER
Okay, time for my final #Novellavember wrapup!

I finished 15 novellas, which was fewer than I would have liked, but still respectable, especially considering all that went on this month.

Whoops! I meant to post on the 20th.
Oh well, here's the rest of the #Novellavember list:

- Run with the Hunted 2: Ctrl Alt Delete (Jennifer R Donohue)
- Run with the Hunted 3: Standard Operating Procedure (JRD)
- Run with the Hunted 4: VIP (JRD)
- Run with the Hunted 5: Insert Coin to Play (JRD)

Final #Novellavember!

9: The Lies of the Ajungo by Moses Ose Utomi

If you ever wanted to read a prose novella that feels like an epic poem, this is your chance. A hard-hitting story about the ways people hold power and the ways people fight back.

And just like that, #Novellavember is hours from over.

But these two will still be around, and they'd love to meet you!
A post just reminded me that #Novellavember is coming up.

Final reads for #Novellavember were both library books and both excellent!

Just before the end of Novellavember 👀

It's in KU for 3 months and then will go wide. Paperback drops whenever Atticus finally lets me download the pdf 🤣. If you want to read but don't use Amazon and can't wait 3 months just let me know - I'll send you an Epub 😁.

#Novellavember 8: Brighter than Scale, Swifter than Flame by Neon Yang (2025)

This one is specifically for all the diaspora kids who wanted to make friends with dragons. So, me.

Next up is yet another book from Pushkin Press and their Japanese novella series. This one is about two loners who find each other during the Covid-19 pandemic. #Novellavember #translatedliterature

People keep trying to make novellavember a thing and I wish it was a bigger thing!

Run With the Hunted is a series

The Drowned Heir and Between the Blood and the Sun each stand alone

#Novellavember 7: Strange Dogs by James S.A. Corey (2017)

I haven't read/seen The Expanse because it's very sprawling, but this was a nice bite-sized piece of sci fi that felt like part of a larger world but not like I was missing anything. Will probably read more of these.

it is WEIRD WEST WEDNESDAY

Between the Blood and the Sun is about faith and dying, and being middle-aged

inspired by Tombstone, and then I of course had to make it weird

I feel bad that I fell off of my #NovellaNovember / #Novellavember. Thursday I fell victim to what I think was food poisoning, and I can never concentrate on reading, writing, or even television when I don't feel well. Yesterday I finally went to urgent care and ... I have a bowel obstruction.

Also, I heard it's #novellavember. Didn't know that's a thing, but FYI, all my books so far are under 200 pages long, including my newest, Rotten Roots.

you deserve some thanks for it! I got the groove back through doing a little Novellavember, and I'm pretty sure over half of these reads were Neon Hemlock novellas languishing in my TBR piles 😂

Time for an overdue update for #Novellavember! One sapphic sci-fi and one gay YA romance.

My favourite book vlogger, Jen Campbell, just released a video where she talks about books under 200 pages. Some of these books I've also read, but some of them I have not heard of (which is very exciting). This is also perfect for #Novellavember: www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7L8...

#Novellavember 6: A Mouthful of Dust by Nghi Vo (2025)

I love the Singing Hills Cycle so much and this was just as good at all the others. Creepy and sad and beautiful, I can't recommend this series enough.

Reading some Anita Desai for #Novellavember. I picked this book up secondhand several years ago after someone online recommended it to me several years before that. I love the internet.

I forgot it was Novellavember 👀. I might have to move SDotSI from Dec 2 to Nov 30 even though it's a Sunday 👀.

As always, thanks, Gabino!

#Novellavember will be wrapping up soon, and I know some of you are still looking for new books to round out the month.

Want a bittersweet love story? Or an ineffable space horror? Maybe both?

This was such a great book! A rec for #Novellavember, Puerto Rican Heritage Month, and those looking for trans masc books!
For what remains of Puerto Rican Heritage Month, I wanted to share work by other Puerto Rican authors

Today, I wanted to shout out @boriscrito.bsky.social whose novella, Sordidez holds up Taínofuturism as a corrective against imperialism
