More half alternate transit than none. A bus lane in 1 direction, because people will totes make the switch if they only spend 2 hours stuck on a bus once a day instead of twice. And multiuse paths instead of separate pedestrian & cycling infrastructure. But yes, the WSE is the perfect example.

Went to a monthly street market in one of our neighboring small cities. It’s nice to see these small cities embrace multiuse public spaces within a strong retail and restaurant area. Now they just need to cut out the cars to expand the space!

I say "something close because, just a few years ago, the city had the opportunity to build a full 10' multiuse path along Paradise Drive just *west* of this current project.

But that would have required dropping an automotive lane, so they just widened the 5' sidewalk to 8' instead.

A nice little Bay Trail gap closure project was just awarded funding in East Corte Madera.

This project extends a multiuse path along Paradise Drive, connecting an existing path and a wide sidewalk.

This means nearly all of Paradise Drive will have a multiuse path (or something very close).

I feel that stop signs and “dismount and walk signs” on multiuse paths are just meant to shift blame onto bikes/peds when they get hit by a car there
Instead of prioritizing and making walking and biking safer by putting in a raised crosswalk or stop signs for drivers, we get this bit of sociopathy support. Who asked for this?

Land is likely to be multiuse with both solar and wind, and the land can be restored quickly if you don't need them. Not only can't you necessarily use land for fossil fuel acquisition for anything while mining, the land in many cases is not usable for anything else afterwards.

What we need are more protected micromobility lanes. Then scooters won't be geofenced to 7mph on a congested multiuse trail.

Rode the newly completed 23 Ave MUP today - it’s now complete from 91 st to 17 st. Only yelled at 2 drivers! One turning right without looking right, and one racing to turn left while I was crossing the road in the cross walk (where a pedestrian was killed a few months ago . #yegbike

I appreciate that #NewWest is improving multiuse pathways with a focus on everyone's safety, but where do I fit in (roads?) as an electric unicycle rider who gears up, rides safely, and does the "yell/bell" thing? All the focus seems to ignore other PEVs.

FDOT says city likely won't get West Beach Drive transfer; commissioners weigh next steps for multiuse path
Residents and commissioners said Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) staff told them the agency will not transfer West Beach Drive and that right-of-way constraints will sharply narrow any multiuse path design. City staff said it will not spend more on redesign unless FDOT provides written permission or guarantees.

I wonder if there's any plans to turn that hill into a proper multiuse path once the hydro thing is done. It sure would be nice not to be lectured about my attitude going down that way.

In the US, the only multiuse paths in most areas are the shoulder of the road. Sidewalks are mostly not built for fast movement, and are actually hazardous for joggers and mobility devices.

I know we call them bike lanes, but the more I’m in “bike lanes” I realize they’re “everything but motor vehicle lanes.” On protected bike lanes/multiuse paths in this city I regularly see people on scooters, in wheelchairs, in strollers, and on bikes of all kinds. They’re everyone lanes.
