This Sega CD is the rarer JVC drive variant which in my experience has a much better and more robust drive assembly and reliable laser. Reads discs like a charm still!

I would personally skip the 5080 and go for a 3090 or 4090 (not sure what the prices are on them), 24gb vram can't be beat.
Mainboard could be picked a bit cheaper.
Also, i personally had bad experience on QC with the Fractal North, you may get lucky but mine was a POS, had to add a ton...

As always, leaking caps all over the mainboard and power/audio boards but they wanted it stock and it restored quite nicely!

Sold my Olympus OM-D E-M1 to my dad and picked up a buggered Fuji X-Pro1 to replace it. Just need to somehow repair a broken tiny flex cable that connects the board with the on/off switch to the no longer gross & water damaged mainboard (ultrasonically cleaned in distilled water & cleaning agent)

Still testing the new DeepComputing DC-ROMA Mainboard II, with 8 SiFive P550 cores, Imagination GPU, and separate NPU chip, with 32 GB of shared RAM. The way it works is... interesting.

I probably wouldn‘t mind replacing the cpu because photoshop is struggling at times and i think it‘s the cpu‘s fault. Only the price is what‘s keeping me from buying a new one! I‘d hate a mainboard problem because i‘m too scared to disassemble the pc completely lol

I've had same issue with one machine. Turning off the integrated GPU fixed it for me. I think it is a bended pin on the mainboard.

Man muss aber auch sagen: das ist ein Mainboard, das mehrere Jahre alt ist und immer noch eine neue (Ryzen!) CPU kriegen kann, das ist bei Intel halt nicht möglich.
