#ISIMIP
On Monday 10th @14:00 BST |15:00 CET |07:00 MT, the International Land Model Forum and ISI-MIP are hosting a joint webinar. Topics will include:
The design of ISIMIP experiments,
Harmonization of forcing and land-use data,
Shared challenges e.g. generating sub-daily forcings for offline forcing.

Here we look at food impacts with an ensemble of 11 crop models (simulating maize, wheat, rice, soy), 5 climate models and 3 emissions scenarios out to 2100. Conducted by AgMIP and ISIMIP with mean yield change outputs previously published by Jonas Jaegermeyr 4/12

This is sort of the ISIMIP idea right? Not that I’ve used that data…

First time visiting Berlin (via #ISIMIP meetings in Potsdam).
Able to plan early enough that #trainnotplane (if you can) is pretty competitive with flying. Quite a few train connections, almost didn't make the final one, but so far so good. As always, wifi patchy in the UK, better on continent ...

Spending most of today on a bus in Sweden on my way to the ISIMIP meeting in Potsdam, which is a thin but nonetheless faintly plausible excuse to spread the joy of Sweden’s -amazing- Eurovision song for this year. Behold the fabulous KAJ: youtu.be/WK3HOMhAeQY?...

Great discussions at this year's ISIMIP paper writing workshop here in Mainz of the global water and groundwater sector🥳.

Nothing better than tackling global water challenges in a continuous Team effort!

We examined outputs from 11 biophysical process-based crop models (maize, wheat, rice, soy), each driven with bias-adjusted outputs from 5 climate models for 3 emissions scenarios, looking at yield changes with each successive global warming level (GWL). Thanks to AgMIP & ISIMIP

Do you think the same conclusion holds for climate models in CMIP instead of ISIMIP?

New paper from Alexandra's PhD, where we show that warming from thicker snow depths may accelerate permafrost carbon loss in the coldest parts of the Arctic. Now out in Communications Earth & Environment, with @millerinlund.bsky.social & @samsrabin.bsky.social www.nature.com/articles/s43... #ISIMIP
Warming-induced contrasts in snow depth drive the future trajectory of soil carbon loss across the Arctic-Boreal region - Communications Earth & Environment
In a warming climate, snow depth increases fastest in the coldest Arctic regions, which leads to enhanced respiration and reduced carbon residence times compared to less cold areas, suggest simulation...
