When studying how internal migration affects changes in district-level electoral outcomes, it is important to separate the compositional effect (heterogeneity in political behavior between movers and stayers) from the exposure effect (change in political behavior due to exposure to migration).

I would focus on what to do when your data/DGP does not follow the "traditional" pattern. There seems to be little consideration for what to do when you a priori anticipate specific issues/features in your data (eg heterogeneity, outliers).

CONCLUSION: Delirium is prevalent across all palliative care settings, with one-third of patients delirious at the time of admission to inpatient palliative care. Study heterogeneity limits meta-analyses and highlights the future need for rigorous studies.
