Ensuring Just Energy Systems Grassroots feminists and advocates are at the frontlines of crisis and change. We work towards the necessary end of the fossil fuel era to ensure that this transition centers justice, builds inclusive and participatory policy-making, and uplifts women's human rights and the rights of Indigenous Peoples around the world. What is energy justice? Energy justice aims to: - Transform the energy system to be accessible, affordable, and grounded in human rights. - Achieve equity in social and economic participation in the energy system. - Rectify the social, economic, and health burdens disproportionately harming communities made vulnerable by racial, gendered, and class-based inequalities. Energy justice encompasses: - Intergenerational justice (not harming future generations) - Environmental justice (the right to a clean environment) - Social protections & social justice (the right to affordable, accessible energy for all) - Good governance (transparency & accountability)
