#FAT32
FAT32 would run out WELL before 22GB (around 4GB).

I might even suggest three if possible. One for each system, and last one for shared files.
If you can only do two, I'd still recommend putting shared files in their own partition that's compatible with both systems. I'd imagine FAT32 would work well.

Seeing pictures of people shovelling gigabytes of sticks of RAM into their protogens always makes me sad.

Adult protogens only need 2,500 kilobytes per day, any more is just going to make them FAT32

yeah I see this too, if they get FAT32 you need to put them on a diet until they're exFAT

Windows 95, initially, with FAT16 file system, could only handle disk partitions up to 2GB...

So even a 6GB disk (typical around 1998?) had to be partitioned up.

This was raised to (an arbitrary limit) 32GB quickly with FAT32. This was probably bigger than the physical size of HDDs at that time.

“Get a FAT32 usb drive”

Well there’s no need to comment on its weight

I hate FAT32 transfer size limits and FTP wireless transfers TIMING OUT ON ME sooooooooooooo fucking much
I was outta town friday and saturday. Got home and my switch jig came in the mail.
I've successfully hacked my switch but the actual process of implementing mods, which I bought it for, is a BIIIIIIIIITCH TO DO

Anyway anybody know any good mario kart 8DX or smash ultimate mod PACKS out there?

The main annoying thing is this uses WBFS, and the 4GB file size limit on FAT32 means it splits files when required. Games downloaded in ISO need to be converted with a desktop tool.

It also wasn’t really clear what some of the USB Loader settings do, had to look up videos and reddit threads. 🫠

On the initial topic of how to work a filesystem? Yeah, absolutely.

Even letting them play with a USB limited to FAT32, a small portable HDD with NTFS and some video files would give them practical knowledge that sometimes more than 4GB of data is too much.

Throwback to when I was completely unable to format a 256GB USB as Fat32 on Windows using ANY software... so I plugged it into the front of my fucking server rack and formatted it remotely.

can't believe I forgot the specifics of how FAT32 works while also remembering every other aspect of how computers work

My first company had 32Mb hard Drive on FAT32
The Gradiente Expert. Was it cheaper than its competition? No. Did it have more software than its competition? No. But did they get out there every day sending out vinyl records to advertise it and putting it into every soap opera? You bet yoru sweet bippy.

Apart from being free, the main things it has over MS-DOS are being Y2K-compliant and support for FAT32 partitions. Honestly for most people something like DOSBox on Linux makes more sense, but there's a thrill in running an OS on real hardware & some legacy machines are still in commercial use.

Pues nada, que tampoco puedo exportar los canales para ordenarlos en el PC porque no reconoce ningún USB, ni FAT32, ni, exFAT, ni NTFS. Que cojones.

• Filesystem support is limited to FAT32 and ExFAT (the latter only after the patent expires in 2027, IIRC)
• All user-made programs will be written in Lua
• Only the active application gets to draw to the screen

Mit was für einem Programm formatierst du eine SD Card?
