![33. Steve Russell, Chief Delivery Officer at NHS England, told us that complaints are a really good example of an area where AI tools could be used to identify themes but where this technology is not yet in place.
“Complaints are a really good example [of an area where AI tools could be used to identify themes]. You can see the numbers, but spotting a pattern and going, ‘there has been the same cluster of complaints about these issues or this practitioner
over a longitudinal period,’ is less sophisticated in most, but not all, organisations. One thing we have been considering is the opportunity to use AI to spot patterns in complaints. I am not an expert in this [area], so I do not know the extent to which it is widely available, although it could be.”
