#Dataflows are the lifeblood of our modern social and economic interactions. However, concerns related to #privacy, #nationalsecurity and #regulatoryreach, among others, have led to growing regulation conditioning (or prohibiting) its flow or mandating that data be stored or processed domestically.

If your project has complex logic and dataflows in the backend, you absolutely want to develop those specific logic blocks separately with TDD. But yeah for the most part I’ve found WebDriver tests to be adequate.

I finally had time to start looking into #MicrosoftFabric. It is very exciting and promising, but I have to say, the Dataflow Gen2 being Power Query with M language is a big let down.

M might be a great language to use within Power BI, but it’s very clunky compared to ADF Dataflows.

I think most of my comments are about how to fit various activities into the framework. For example, step 2 is “Identify critical components and dataflows that, when impacted, would result in mission failure.” Do we need to do that as identifying what we’re working on, or can we get there via a […]

My team and I are using our #PowerBI workspace as our semantic layer using dataflows. I think we can achieve this with an intuitive filing system for data flows vs semantic models and reports. As we split into a "Dev" and "Recurring Reports" teams, I think this will be important to ensure efficiency
